Visiting Grandpa on the Fourth

 After running a 10K for the first time in probably a decade, Mister John rested for a few hours before heading eastward with Miss Jill and the two girls to visit his sister's house.  There Mary Jane and Betsy Jo got to spend some time with cousins Garrett, Trevor, and Manny (the eldest of the whole cousin brood).  There was also an Aunt Jo and Uncle Jose sighting which is good for Mary Jane as she quite the memory and it makes it all the easier for her to look at pictures and point at them with the proper names.

In this picture, it's Aunt Pat, Daddy, Betsy, and Aunt Jo.  Alas, Mary Jane was already in her car seat when this impromptu picture was taken.  Pat and Jo were talking about sibling rivalry and how sisters bicker about certain things... perfect to know before Mary Jane and Betsy Jo get older.  Then again Mommy also had an older sister so she knows all about that.

Grampa Says Hi to the Little Girl

Some of Mister John's family came over today to say Hi to little Mary Jane again. Nothing makes people happier than seeing a beautiful little baby... and then leaving knowing that they don't have to deal with the crying and fussing and diapers for more than just a two-hour visit.

Mary Jane behaved quite splendidly as did Chip. He hopped into the living room a few times to make his presence known and then hopped off to hide wherever he likes hiding. Or maybe stare at a wall or something just as mystifying.

With the picture here, Grampa got to hold the little girl. Ah, his first grandchild was Manny and that was over 28 years ago. I guess being a grandfather is something one doesn't forget. Unlike riding a bicycle. THUMP.

Cherry Bugg Only Gets Half a Day

Cherry Bugg is infuriated that she only gets out for two hours on a Saturday morning due to Miss Jill and Mister John going to a wedding. "THUMP," she says, "who needs a wedding anyway?"

Meanwhile Phillip will have his TV on loud to watch the soccer game this afternoon.

Conversely, Connie will have ESPN2 on in the bedroom and will watch the UCLA baseball game. Such a busy household today.

Meanwhile, Mister John and Miss Jill dress up and look quite sharp.
