Family Survives Carmageddon

Although Mr. John and Miss Jill drove their MJ down to Orange County for an adventure, traffic did not arise as a problem. Wide open roads on the Westside. Monty, the family car, was quite appreciative.

Miss Jill and Mister John Arrive (Somewhat Dry) in Arizona

The rains were incessant, the rains were inexorable, the rains were intolerable... but the rains have now passed. But there was still a long drive from LA to west of Phoenix through the unrelenting rain. It finally stopped by the time brave Monty passed Quartzsite.
Now Mary Jane seems to be resting well in her first trip out of the state. She's sleeping well; as for her parents, who knows? They left their bunnies behind and hopefully someone else is feeding them for Thumpmas. It's the most thumperful time of the year.

Monty Wants an Oil Change

This morning Monty said to Mister John and Miss Jill that he wanted an oil change. He said, "Mister John and Miss Jill, I want an oil change." So Mister John and Miss Jill have agreed upon giving him one. He will get one later this week and everyone will be hoppy.

Do recall that Monty received his name from the location in which he first encountered Mister John and Miss Jill: Monterey. He's quite the happy fellow and Mister John really enjoys the air-cooled seats.

Some Pictures from the Monterey Coast

Miss Jill and I made our way to the Central Coast in order to buy Monty, a new (to us) car. This is a 2007 Volvo S80, again pictures upcoming, and as we acquainted ourselves with the new car, we drove up and down the coast and took many beautiful pictures of the scenery.

The surf was quite high last weekend as it topped out at almost 20 feet. Luckily we were high upon the palisades and rocks above to take these pictures.

Later on we did hit one more mission. Well, we visited it; if we hit it, then our new car would have been most displeased. I'm not sure where we our on our "Mission Count" but Carmel is one of the missions which looks quite kept up. Coincidence that it's in a very exclusive neighborhood? Hmm...

Anyway, it's back to my judicious reading of Derrida for my class next week. Nothing quite says excitement like reading Différance.
