Girls on the Farm

 A few weeks back the girls went to Underwood Farms and had a great time riding on the tractor as well as picking berries and sitting on pumpkins.  Tis the season for pumpkins!!!

A Mar Vista Halloween

 Nothing like a Halloween evening to get the girls in a festive mood.  They paired up quite nicely as Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf.  They made it to four houses on the evening as that's about all they could manage in our neighborhood.  Maybe next year they'll expand to ten but for now that's perfect.

Mary Jane much preferred to stand on our porch and distribute candy to all the other trick-or-treaters.  One of them (in a Scream mask) actually scared her so she backed up at first and didn't give them a candy.

On a similar note, Betsy had a fit when she first saw Daddy in his Gramma (Wolf) costume.  She kept screaming not knowing it was her own Daddy.  That made him sad but he got over it... ultimately.

Little Red Riding Hood (Betsy) fell asleep as soon as she got back.  Too much stimulation for her.  As for Mary Jane, she did stay up late for her.  All of 7:15 but then she summarily passed out and the rest of the night was quite for the Wolfman and his Wife.

Pumpkin Butters

It's autumn at the Erb household and everyone is starting to think about Halloween and pumpkins.

Mary Jane and Betsy Jo went to a pumpkin patch a few days back and felt right at home. They won't be carving any pumpkins for a few more years but they sure fit in well with the surroundings.

We're not telling what they'll be for Halloween but we know you, the dutiful viewing audience, will love it.

Bunnicula and Fang

Twas a scary night on Dewey Street. Instead of the lovely Root Beer Float and Ruby Jane who usually guard the front door during Halloween, they were replaced by the unruly Bunnicula and Fang. In the picture to the left, Bunnicula is seen staring straight ahead before devouring another carrot. Fang is sitting in the potty and hides behind the sign.

For Halloween, a total of 62 trick-or-treaters showed up at Chez Erb before the doors were shut down to no more candy. Currently, Bunnicula and Fang have been released in the house but they are behaving much tamer. Much more like a Root Beer Float and a Ruby Jane that I know.

Meanwhile Miss Jill wants a PowerPoint spreadsheet from Mister John considering all the children who showed up tonight. Rarely does Chez Erb shut down so early but too many children tonight... oh well, get here early if you want food. We could give the children carrots but that would upset the vicious vampire rabbits.

RBF Wonders Where Cake Is

Even though it is nowhere near her birthday, Root Beer Float was heard asking her sister Ruby Jane, "Hey, where's my birthday cake?"

"Where's OUR birthday cake?" retorted Ruby Jane, irritated that RBF forgot that they share the same birthday. Ruby Jane, our beloved Brown Bear, shrugged and hopped back under the orange tree.

Root Beer Float, as you can see here, sits a bit confused near the base of the ham radio tower. She's pining for a nice chocolate cake. Maybe all of this Halloween chatter among the rabbits led to her thinking she'd get chocolate cake. Heck, Mister John and Miss Jill would like some chocolate cake too.

Meanwhile Chip is upset that people keep blaming him for things. Poor chip.
