Fun with Leaves

There's nothing quite like jumping about in the fallen leaves.  Yes, this is California so this isn't October but rather early March as the only reason the old leaves are falling off the trees is due to the new leaves are coming in.  Mary Jane thinks about going snow angel but instead makes a bed of leaves.

Some day Baby Jack will look forward to it as well.  He's off screen on a blue blanket watching all the madness.

Mary Jane and Betsy: Playing with the Swing

Mary Jane loves the tree swing.  She loves to ride in it so she can look at all the "crazy" cars, helicopters, and airplanes that go by (do recall we live adjacent to an airport).  But even more than that, she enjoys pushing others in the swing.  Sometimes it is just one of her dolls: either Hope or the one she has named "Baby."  In some instances like here, she pushes Betsy Jo on the swing.  She originally became jealous when she would see her sister on the swing (hey, it's my turn) but eventually she became much more accepting of the situation.

Betsy loves being in the swing and we really just need to remind Mary Jane to watch out so she won't get kicked in the head!  Gotta be tough in this family.

Pumpkin Butters

It's autumn at the Erb household and everyone is starting to think about Halloween and pumpkins.
Mary Jane and Betsy Jo went to a pumpkin patch a few days back and felt right at home. They won't be carving any pumpkins for a few more years but they sure fit in well with the surroundings.
We're not telling what they'll be for Halloween but we know you, the dutiful viewing audience, will love it.

Rainy But Tolerable

The rain has fallen intermittently the last few days. Typically in October rain is desired as the grass is mostly brown with a hint of decay. But now with the persistent heavy sweat of almost rain for the past week, the sprinklers might be held at bay for at least six months. The bunnies have mixed emotions about this. Rain keeps them in their cages (except for Root Beer Float who does not fear mud) yet the rain brings more green grass to munch. Oh, the injustices of weather...
