A Very Happy Family Friend

Connie was quite happy yesterday.  She was a bit irritated that Miss Jill and Mister John started the UCLA/U$C game two hours late due to sick children they were putting to sleep.  But the game itself was splendid for her.  Lots of touchdowns and lots of sacks by her favorite Bruin, linebacker Anthony Barr.  Everyone else is on the Myles Jack bandwagon.  Not Connie!  At least not until next year when Barr turns pro and Jack is still around sacking, intercepting, and running for short TDs.

That Arizona game was quite impressive: nothing like a 66-10 victory to make you feel a little better about yourself.  But still three games remain.  Just make sure we win the one in the middle.

Bruins Win, Mister John Happy

It wasn't easy... but UCLA is actually 3-2. Connie is a happy wrestling bear as well.

Meanwhile Cherry Bugg and Chip are both cohabiting in the den right now. The Chee hasn't gone uber-angry at Chip yet.

Vegas Baby!

Miss Jill was tired of feeding rabbits this week (I smell irony there) so she left for Vegas. She has a nice spacious room with glorious furniture. Meanwhile the bunnies and I stay home at Chez Erb. That's OK. Really it is.

Hopefully she bets on UCLA football for me. Then again... they could tank horribly this weekend.

Cool Connie Hibernates for the Summer

Connie has officially started her hibernation for the summer. After UCLA lost to South Carolina in the College World Series, she put on her trademark shades and said that she was going to sleep for a bit. Miss Jill, Mister John, and the Animals are all giving her wide berth not wanting to awaken her, lest she start rasslin' anyone or anything that moves. Cherry Bugg has already started avoiding her. Instead she bites Miss Jill on the arm at 3am wanting carrots. Oops.

Not to worry, Connie, UCLA football will start soon enough. Mister John will awaken you in time for the first game.

Vindication

OK, the second half was much much better than the first half. A new game plan, better defense, one timely interception. That's all we really needed. While 7-6 does not look like a great season by any means, it's not only better than 6-7 but we're also NOT U$C.

Chip and Cherry Bugg both united in watching the second half and by saying, "Go Bruins!" The best of all Thumpmas gifts...

Mister John Feels 90 Minutes of His Life Lost

After one half of frustrating bowl football, Mister John looked over at Cherry Bugg and asked, "Where did the last thirty minutes of my life go?" Cherry Bugg continued to eat her carrot and ignored his pained queries. Mister John should eat a carrot or two and feel better about himself as well.

UCLA basketball season is already in action or inaction as the case may be. Well, at least there's the fantasy football title game this Sunday. Go Spanish Inquisition!
