Baths Are Fun!!!

At least that's what Mary Jane says.  Now anytime in the afternoon, her favorite word is "Bath."  She knows it's coming at some point in the late afternoon.  The only problem for Mary Jane is that it comes right before she goes to bed.  Subsequently when Daddy picks her up with his towel, that means it's dressing-for-bed time and she screams in disapproval.

Oh, she can't wait to go swimming again this summer.  Bring on those swimming classes at LMU again!

It's that time of the year again when spring makes on think about... swimming!  Mary Jane swam all last summer and enjoyed it immensely.  Those first few classes at LMU were a bit rough but she learned to enjoy the splashing and then spent most of August in Arizona pools.  Good thing as last August was the hottest August in Arizona history.
Somebody likes playing with water.
This year Gramma and Grampa Kendall brought out a small portable pool which is the perfect size for little Mary Jane.  Note: we'll try it out on Betsy over Memorial Day weekend.  As for now, we'll just let her try out her water-loving skills in the bath.  Mary Jane had a great time in the mini-pool.  She didn't quite learn the word "pool" yet but she did point at the outdoor mini-pool (from inside the Kendall's house) and say "bath."  Good enough for me.

Bruin It Up!

Mary Jane and Daddy were sporting the colors this morning. Watch out when they start dressing up the same. Mommy needs to get some LMU gear ready for her precious little girl. Meanwhile the little Bruin outfit for her is almost getting too small. It may be time to drive over to UCLA and get some new apparel!

Daddy Returns to Grad School

Mister John aka Daddy is getting back into the educational swing tonight. Nothing quite says graduate school course in English like that of the Bard himself, William Shakespeare. This will be quite helpful as this would clearly aid in the Master's Examination. But someday... someday... to teach a class in this would be quite interesting. In one of those classes, you don't get students who don't want to be there. I mean, really, who would willingly choose a class in iambic pentameter is they're only interested in fashion or football (wow, that suits the Oregon Ducks team right there). Only students who would have academic aspirations would dare take such a class.

Anyway, back to the grad school grind indeed. Not sure what plays are on the docket but it will be fun. OK, I am foreseeing a 15 page paper or so and that might not be considered "fun" but bring it on anyway. Writing a paper with baby in sling. Or maybe a non-stop nighttime reading of Shakespeare to Mary Jane.

Ah, the best time of all "to be or not to be" a great parent.

Ella Moo Grazes in the Back Yard

Saturday is typically the day for Cherry Bugg to run about in the backyard. But today the Chee is inside on the bed with Miss Jill as they watch Gilmore Girls, or something like that. In her absence, Miss Ella Moo, the bedroom cow, rests in the back yard. She occasionally grazes but never in the same space as Root Beer Float or Ruby Jane.

Ella followed home Mister John one day after he visited his new grad school campus. Unbeknown to him, she sneaked into the car and has been a home cow ever since. She is quite the cheerful animal and reminds Miss Jill of the importance not to eat too much meat. She does often tell Mister John and Miss Jill to eat more chicken (just like those commercials). But this causes controversy as Cherry Bugg has often been referred to as "The Chicken" due to her proclivity of brooding in the bedroom. And Cherry Bugg does get a bit irritated when Miss Jill pushes the "Are You Chicken?" button which plays the Chicken Dance.

King of the Bed Sits at the Top

After the group picture, Lion was quite upset. "Grrrrrrrowl!" he said with most distemper. Luckily Mister John had extra photos to take and took a very styling photo of everyone's favorite lion. Do also note his wonderful t-shirt which reads: Somebody from LMU Loves Me. Considering Mister John goes there now and rumor has it Miss Jill once attended there, no one is quite sure who bought the shirt or whom the intended recipient may be.

In either case, Lion proudly presides over the menagerie on the bed. Get it? Lion? Pride? Ha, sometimes I kill myself!!!
